Mi-Sook Yoo

Completed her Master of Divinity from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, IL, and the Two-Year Academy for Spiritual Formation from the Upper Room Ministry. She has served on multiple Five-Day Academies’ leadership teams over the last 12 years.
Lives in San Jose, CA, with her husband, Hyujae, another UM clergy, her daughter, Stephanie, and furbaby, Danbi (meaning “sweet rain”).
Enjoys music, walking, hiking, cooking, and simply being in the wonder of God’s creation.

Began her official position with Good Samaritan after two decades of ministry experience in Korean UMC churches in developing and leading children’s ministry, senior ministry, Bible Study, and organizing church wide events.
Grew up as a Chinese political refugee in Jeju, South Korea. Studied at international schools in South Korea, Taiwan and Florida. Trilingual in Mandarin, Korean and English.
Loves being the wife of Kang Won Lee, pastor for Jesus Love UMC, and a mom to two college students.
Her interests also include making delicious Chinese and Korean food for family and friends, flower arranging, and basketball.

Office Manager at Good Samaritan since October 2025. Truly enjoys working alongside its kind, supportive and dedicated community.
B.A. in Psychology from UCLA, M.A. in Elementary Education from LMU. Previously taught in SoCal for 10 years.
After relocating to the Bay Area in 2007, she devoted her time to raising her two sons and became an active parent volunteer.
Enjoys playing racquet sports, traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends.
