Prayer Vigil for Mental Health
April 29, 2022@7:00 pm-9:00 pm
This “Day of Prayer,” April 29, will honor those who struggle with mental health issues. Often those who suffer are invisible, and lack access to the care they need. Seeking to be present with those who suffer and their families, we will meet in the Sanctuary at 7 PM. We will have times for speakers, reflection, and prayer.
Mental Illness affects one in five people in the United States. It may range from anxiety to bi-polar disorder, depression, or schizophrenia. In spite of our modern understanding, there continues to be a stigma attached to those suffering with mental illness. We know that Jesus cured those who suffered with demons. We interpret the word “demoniac” in some cases to be people living with mental illness. We also hear our Lord’s cry to help those who are marginalized to be accepted into our family as brothers and sisters. Let us bring those who suffer with mental illness to God in prayer. We will honor those whose struggle, in most cases, is life long, with this “Day of Prayer.” We invite anyone who feels comfortable in asking for prayers to send an email to Pastor Rajiv. These prayer requests will be spoken at the “Day of Prayer” vigil.
